Reading of the Day

First Reading: Genesis 49:2, 8-10

2. “Assemble and listen, O sons of Jacob, listen to Israel your father.8. “Judah, your brothers shall praise you; your hand shall be on the neck of your enemies; your father’s sons shall bow down before you. 9. Judah is a lion’s cub; from the prey, my son, you have gone up. He stooped down; he crouched as a lion and as a lioness; who dares rouse him? 10. The scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor the ruler’s staff from between his feet, until tribute comes to him; and to him shall be the obedience of the peoples.

Psalm 72:1-2, 3-4ab, 7-8, 17 (R. see 7)

Response: In his days shall justice flourish and great peace forever.

O God, give your judgment to the king,
to a king's son your justice,
that he may judge your people in justice,
and your poor in right judgment. Response

May the mountains bring forth peace for the people,
and the hills justice.
May he defend the poor of the people,
and save the children of the needy. Response

In his days shall justice flourish,
and great peace till the moon is no more.
He shall rule from sea to sea,
from the River to the bounds of the earth. Response

May his name endure forever,
his name continue like the sun.
Every tribe shall be blest in him,
all nations shall call him blessed. Response

Daily Gospel Reflection

The Reflection by Fr. Thumma Mariadas Reddy MSFS{alertWarning}

Main Theme: God’s grace embraces!

Indicative: Our God is a living God and a life-giving God. He is ever-present and active. But for many and in the lives of many, God is not alive.{alertSuccess}

1. We reflected on the same passage the last Sunday. Our focus was on God as the God of life, and we as destined for life in eternity. Our simple reflection is God is not dead though many try to make Him dead, many try to deaden His Spirit, His presence, and action. In the life of many, God is not really alive. He does not live for them because they do not bother at all about Him.

Imperative: Let us not secularise too much heaven and eternal life also. Let us not restrict the unbounded mercy and reign of God{alertSuccess}
